To Serve Heavy-Duty Trucking Industry

Dave’s Diesel Repair to provide sales, installation, support for the OPS Eco-Pur system

Waterbury, Conn., April 12, 2012 – Oil Purification Systems (OPS) (www.ops-1.com), the leader in fluid cleaning technology, announced today a Canadian distribution agreement with Dave’s Diesel Repair (DDR) that will further extend the OPS brand for the trucking industry in North America. Headquartered in central Alberta, DDR will provide sales, installation and support services for new and existing OPS customers in western Canada. DDR’s primary focus will be for the OPS Eco-Pur, the first and only supplemental filtration system that uses advanced electronic controls to continuously optimize the cleaning process and remove both solid and liquid contaminants from lubricating oil.

“DDR and OPS share a very similar philosophy with regard to an oil maintenance program,” said Dave Szybunka, owner of Dave’s Diesel Repair. “With recent changes in emissions regulations, engines don’t run the way they used to and require more frequent repairs earlier in their lifecycle. The Eco-Pur system keeps engines cleaner and running efficiently – ultimately allowing our customers to run their engines longer than they thought possible. OPS’ technology is ideal for helping our customers save time and money, while also protecting the environment.”

In addition to providing sales, support and service for the OPS line of fluid cleaning products, DDR will also stock Eco-Pur replacement filters and provide oil analysis kits. OPS requires that its customers perform routine oil analysis to ensure optimal engine life. Fluid analysis provides a snapshot of what is happening inside the engine and allows companies to safely extend oil drain intervals, extend equipment life and minimize downtime by identifying minor problems before they become major failures.

“Dave’s Diesel Repair is known for its stellar reputation in providing outstanding service and technical knowledge to the trucking industry in western Canada,” said Greg Slawson, CEO of Oil Purification Systems. “DDR takes a very progressive approach to an engine’s lifecycle and oil maintenance program, making the company an ideal partner for OPS. We are excited to see DDR extend the OPS brand to their extensive network of small fleets and owner-operators.”

About Dave’s Diesel Repair

For more than 29 years, Dave’s Diesel Repair has been servicing the trucking industry in central Alberta, Canada. Specializing in CAT engines, DDR offers chassis and engine Dyno services, as well as all electronic programs for Cummins, Cat and Detroit engines. The company’s new, modern facility is fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology capable of providing the highest caliber of specialized service the industry demands.

Edwards Mail Service currently has installed 175 units and plans to complete installation on all 250 trucks within the next six months. The company is already saving approximately $140,000 per year by significantly extending each vehicle’s oil drain intervals, and expects that savings to be even greater as the entire fleet is outfitted.

Bill Godfrey, area manager for Edwards Mail Service, said, “OPS and the Eco-Pur system are not only playing a tremendous role in helping us save money with fewer oil changes, but also in extending the life of our trucks’ engines. We have a number of older trucks in our fleet, and thanks to OPS we have implemented a stringent reporting system for our oil sampling. This enables us to identify engine issues before they become major problems, saving us even more time and money and allowing us to keep our trucks running efficiently longer than ever before. What’s more, our ROI with the Eco-Pur was only about a year.”

About half of the Edwards Mail fleet is comprised of Class 8 vehicles (over 33,000 pounds), while the other half are Class 6 vehicles (ranging from 19,501-26,000 pounds.) Before implementing the Eco-Pur system, the company changed the oil on its larger vehicles every 20,000 miles. Those same vehicles are now running 80,000 miles, and sometimes even longer between oil changes. For its Class 6 trucks, Edwards Mail has extended oil drain intervals from

10,000 miles to 60,000 miles with the Eco-Pur system. The company continues to bring in each truck every 20,000 miles for routine maintenance and checks oil samples for impurities. It is during these routine checks that the company can identify various issues, such as extra coolant or wear metals in the oil, allowing Edwards Mail to pinpoint specific concerns in the early stages that could turn into major problems down the line. The company has also been able to double the life of its fuel filters since implementing the Eco-Pur system.

The OPS Eco-Pur system is the first and only supplemental filtration system that uses advanced electronic controls to continuously optimize the cleaning process and remove both solid and liquid contaminants from lubricating oil. The system continuously monitors temperature, pressure and flow to optimize the evaporation process based on an engine’s real-time operation.

“Edwards Mail Service’s decision to expand its Eco-Pur installations is a testament to the company’s commitment to further improving its oil maintenance program, and reducing its carbon footprint,” said Greg Slawson, CEO of Oil Purification Systems. “And, while saving money with fewer oil changes has been a significant benefit for Edwards Mail, the ability to know they are able to use their trucks longer, while also performing fewer major engine repairs, is an even larger benefit that will continue to pay off for years to come.”

About Edwards Mail Service

Headquartered in Lubbock, Texas, Edwards Mail Service has been contracting for the U.S. Postal Service since 1976. The company has continued to expand its business and now services a number of routes in Texas as well as Tennessee, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas, and Wisconsin.

Those lumbering Class 8 trucks that run daily routes from residential pickup to transfer station to landfill endure the most rugged conditions on the planet. It’s important that all their parts are robust so that the whole is resilient.

To protect his equipment, Svehla uses fluid cleaning technology from Oil Purification Systems, Inc., based in Waterbury, CT, to remove solid and liquid contaminants from industrial lubricating fluids. It reduces the need for routine maintenance, extends equipment life and maintenance costs by as much as 80% and has a significantly lower environmental impact.

OPS is essentially a second filter mounted in a fender well, cleaning fluid that it returns to the pump. “The bypass works well with a full-flow filter,” Svehla says. By providing cleaner oil, we can extend drain intervals.” Component life is directly related to cleaner oil and extended intervals translates to less downtime. Less routine maintenance means there’s more capacity in the shop to do other things and a reduction in the number of spare trucks needed in the fleet to cover routes while some are in the shop.

“It saves oil, filters and labor,” Svehla counts. Figuring in visible metrics such as labor and parts, he estimates the health metric of his fleet by weighing downtime, road calls and compliance with the cost per engine hour. “That’s tough to calculate, but we estimate payback in 18 to 20 months. That’s a quick return on investment.

Leading waste services provider expands product implementation to extend oil drain intervals and minimize negative effects to environment

Waterbury, Conn. – May 10, 2011 – Oil Purification Systems (OPS) (www.ops-1.com) announced today that Republic Services, Inc. (NYSE:RSG), a leading provider of recycling and solid waste services, has signed an agreement to install the OPS Eco-Pur fluid cleaning system on all new 2011 Republic Services’ trucks. With more than 1,000 systems already installed, this agreement reflects the company’s commitment to expand product implementation. The Eco-Pur system allows Republic Services to safely extend oil drain intervals and minimize waste oil for a cleaner environment.
“Oil samples don’t lie. Our analysis shows that we can safely extend oil drain intervals on even our dirtiest vehicle types, and we are targeting specific vehicles to extend even longer,” said Roy Svehla, senior manager for corporate maintenance at Republic Services. “OPS worked closely with us in tracking and monitoring oil samples at multiple locations to ensure that the oil was clean and our equipment was running as efficiently as possible.”
Republic is installing the Eco-Pur system at their body manufacturers on new 2011 vehicles prior to delivery, and plans to work directly with their chassis manufacturers to install the Eco- Pur system on new deliveries from 2012 going forward. The OPS Eco-Pur system is the first and only supplemental filtration system that uses advanced electronic controls to continuously

optimize the cleaning process and remove both solid and liquid contaminants from lubricating oil. The system continuously monitors temperature, pressure and flow to optimize the evaporation process based on an engine’s real-time operation.
“The return on investment is motivating more waste services companies to adopt improved oil maintenance programs to extend the life of their equipment, while also being more environmentally responsible,” said Vince Polentes, vice president of OPS’ Waste Services division. “Republic Services’ decision to implement the system on all its new trucks is a testament to the proven benefits they have already seen, and also reinforces the rigorous design standards and extensive field testing that OPS has put into the Eco-Pur system.”

OPS fluid cleaning technology enables LUBRI-TECH customers
to reduce oil waste and save money on oil maintenance cost

Waterbury, Conn. – January 12, 2010

Oil Purification Systems (OPS) the leader in fluid cleaning technology, announced today a distribution agreement with LUBRI-TECH, S.A., a subsidiary of B&R Group. Under the agreement, LUBRI-TECH will provide sales, installation and customer support services for OPS’ products, primarily in the Dominican Republic and throughout Latin America

Because oil is even more expensive in the Dominican Republic than in the U.S., this is an ideal market for the OPS technology,” said Ramon Mella, general manager for LUBRI-TECH. “Our customers who are already using OPS’ products see significant savings in their oil maintenance costs, while also enjoying increased longevity and productivity of their engines. Additionally, the disposal of waste oil and the resulting contamination are major problems in the Dominican Republic. OPS’ fluid cleaning technology allows our customers to perform fewer oil changes, therefore putting less waste oil back into the environment.”

LUBRI-TECH is currently focusing its sales efforts on the trucking, marine and mining industries in the Dominican Republic, with a number of OPS units already installed on large equipment operating in seaports – including cranes, lifters and trucks. OPS users can expect to see at least an 80 percent savings in oil maintenance costs and a return on investment in 6-18 months. Additionally, B&R Group has co-sponsored the establishment of an independent oil analysis lab in Santo Domingo to perform oil sampling for its customers. Fluid analysis provides a snapshot of what is happening inside equipment installed with OPS technology and allows companies to safely extend oil drain intervals, extend equipment life and minimize downtime by identifying minor problems before they become major failures.

According to B&R Group’s chairman, Jaak Rannik, “One of our entrepreneurial habits is to always be on the lookout for new technologies that have some relevance to our core business, and I am very confident that we will do very well with this product and the fine company that makes it.”

“Latin America, and specifically the Dominican Republic, is an important market for OPS with a high concentration of large equipment,” said Greg Slawson, CEO of OPS. “We have already seen significant interest in the OPS technology and are confident that LUBRI-TECH will help us further expand our reach beyond the U.S.”

About LUBRI-TECH
LUBRI-TECH is a company established under the laws of the Dominican Republic and is active in the import, distribution and installation of advanced lubrication solutions for large, progressive client firms in the Dominican Republic and elsewhere in the region. LUBRI-TECH is a subsidiary of the B&R group of companies, one of the largest and oldest integrated marine services companies, with a history dating back to 1919. Today, B&R is made up of 13 companies and over 400 dedicated professionals, providing A-to-Z transportation and logistics solutions to clients from around the world.
About Oil Purification Systems

Stamford, Conn. – August 20, 2009
The first survey conducted by the 22-year old Connecticut Quality Improvement Award Partnership, America’s oldest state level quality award using the Baldrige criteria, and the 15-year old CQIA Innovation Prize, the first statewide innovation award, revealed that 87.1% of the 2009 CQIA Innovation Prize recipients anticipated that their organizations would do better in 2010 than in 2009.

Just 5.5% reported that they would do the same in 2010. (One manufacturer wrote that 2009 was their best year ever and he didn’t know if they could improve on those results.) Only 4.4% explained that there were restrictions on their forecasting future growth. (A hospital president said, “Given all the ferment in Washington, with regard to healthcare reform, we simply cannot forecast our future at this time.”)

“The Connecticut Quality Improvement Award Partnership is proud to attract the very best organizations in Connecticut to submit applications for the annual CQIA Innovation Prize,” says Sheila Carmine, founder and executive director of the not-for-profit, 501c3 Connecticut Quality Improvement Award Partnership which has never asked for or receive money from the state or federal government.

“CQIA Innovation Prize winners are the engine that is powering economic growth in the State of Connecticut,” she adds.

Whether manufacturers, service companies, universities, or health care facilities and state and federal agencies, all applicants must submit at least one new product, service or process new to Connecticut in the last five years that has produced numerical results in reaching their market.

Gold CQIA Innovation Prize recipients for 2009 include Assa Abloy, New Haven; Avalence LLC, Milford; Basement Systems, Seymour; Energizer, Milford; Ikonisys, New Haven, MedPricer.com, Guilford; Newport, Stratford; NU Middletown, Hartford, Oil Purification Systems, Shelton; Owl Computing, Ridgefield; Pratt & Whitney, East Hartford; Real Time Analyzers, Middletown; Retail Optimization, New Haven; Smart Equipment, Norwalk; Sonic Golf, Bethany; Terra Technology, Norwalk; UCONN School of Dental Medicine, Farmington; Vertigo, Andover, and Yardney in Pawcatuck.

Additional 2009 CQIA Innovation Prize winners were one platinum, Southern Connecticut State University for its “Differential Speckle Survey Instrument, and 34 silver winning organizations for a total of 54 organizations that submitted 69 winning applications.

Silver CQIA Innovation Prize winners from the Hartford area include Cigna Corporation, Comcast, Berlin; Hartford Hospital; Post University, Waterbury; Rockville Bank, South Windsor; RSL Fiber Systems, LLC, East Hartford; Travelers, Windsor; TRUMPF, Farmington; UCONN, Office of Technology Commercialization.

CQIA’s 22nd Annual Conference on Quality and Innovation is October 23, 2009 from 9 AM to 4 PM at Water’s Edge Resort in Westbrook, Connecticut when past, present and future forward looking, passionate innovators will join with Ron Fiala, Process Improvement Manager, Cargill Corn Millings, a recent Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award manufacturing winner. They will exchange ideas and learn the latest innovations that are bringing economic success to Connecticut’s manufacturers, service organizations, education facilities, and health care institutions as well as state and federal agencies.

Please contact Sheila Carmine at 203 322-9534 for further information on the conference and submitting CQIA Innovation Prize applications for 2010.

First and only supplemental filtration system to use electronic controls to continuously optimize the cleaning process and remove both solid and liquid contaminants from lubricating oil

Shelton, Conn. – August 20, 2009
Building upon fluid cleaning technology that has been tested and proven in the trucking industry, Oil Purification Systems (OPS) (www.ops-1.com) announced today the new Eco-Pur™ System, the first and only supplemental filtration system that uses electronic controls to continuously optimize the cleaning process and remove both solid and liquid contaminants from lubricating oil. The Eco-Pur™ allows fleet owners and owner-operators to safely extend oil drain intervals as much as five times, earn a return on investment in as little as 10 months and minimize waste oil for a cleaner environment.

“The Eco-Pur™ is the result of rigorous design standards and more than 12 months of extensive laboratory and field testing,” says Bill Priest, vice president of engineering for OPS. “The OPS-1™ System has been widely used over a number of years to reduce oil maintenance costs. We have been able to take that technology a step further and use even more innovative materials and design specifications to create a product that will continue to help companies meet their preventative maintenance goals now and in the future.”

The Eco-Pur™ utilizes the most advanced components and circuitry available for its electronic controls that continuously monitor temperature and flow to optimize the evaporation process based on an engine’s real-time operation. Additionally, the Eco-Pur™ is the only system of its kind to allow flexible product configurations based on a piece of equipment’s specific operating and contamination profile. Because the Eco-Pur™ has less hardware and a six-position integrated bracket, it is also easier to install and service than its predecessor.

OPS works with each customer to develop a customized plan based on business and operational requirements. This plan includes a review of current preventative maintenance practices and a company’s maintenance goals for the future, a comprehensive return on investment analysis and determining the best filter size for a company’s equipment. OPS also customizes its lube sampling and analysis program to further help companies meet maintenance objectives by doing the following:

Safely extending oil drain intervals,

Identifying opportunities for optimizing filtration performance,

Minimizing downtime by identifying minor problems before they become major failures,

Migrating to a truly condition-based oil maintenance program, and

Providing regular reviews to ensure realization of benefits.

“Using our very successful OPS-1™ system as a foundation, we have developed a product that helps companies significantly reduce oil maintenance costs,” says Greg Slawson, CEO for OPS. “With millions of miles and thousands of hours of proven performance, the Eco-Pur™ represents OPS’ commitment to helping our customers save time and money with fewer oil changes, while also protecting the environment.”

The Eco-Pur™ System will be available in September. OPS will also continue to service its flagship product, the OPS-1™ system for existing customers. For more information, or pricing on the Eco-Pur™ contact OPS at 866-645-7873, Info@OPS-1.com , or visit www.ops-1.com.
